Sometimes a good camera just takes better pictures. Perfectly captures the ESSENCE of the moment. (Ha! not quoting u Sung, I added my own word)

Snow Patrol 2007, one super over due post.

So we got there 2 hours before the concert was scheduled to start. Guess what we saw?

NOBODY!!! *gua gua gua* Geezzz... what's wrong with these people man?? Maybe they get nonchalant with all these big international acts coming to sleepy Adelaide this year. But isn't Snow Patrol big enough? Considering Grey's Anatomy being such a big hit here...

And then.. only did we find out that was the gate for the seated tickets.. so people don't actually have to arrive early to get good places.

Yay! We had tickets to the free standing area! I think 3 out of 5 of us only knew one Snow Patrol song. No prizes for guessing which one.

Still not too many people queuing up to go in around 5 ish. The spirit of kiasuness just isn't not as apparent here. After sitting around for 2 hours which almost made my already non existent butt even more so , we finally could get in but not without being stopped for bag checks. Hence, still didn't manage to get the prime standing places we wanted. But where we stood wasn't too shabby either. Just that all the tall people had to stand in front of us.. Really wish I were taller at times like this.

Waited for a while before the first opening act appeared. The Silversun Pickups which I think would be from Ireland as well. They weren't too bad... the drummer definitely looked like he was on crack. I have never seen anybody hit the drums like he does.. Look at how high he raises his arm. Oh yeah and he shakes his head damn violently too.. I think he was more of the centre of the attraction than anyone else in that band.

And the second opening act , called Ian Archer (I think) performed. Not too bad either.. Was getting restless so was everybody else. But we already knew Snow Patrol was only coming out at around 9-ish. No wonder all the people with seated tickets came so much later..

HAAAAAAAAAAAANDS OPEN!!!
Snow Patrol themselves!! Started off things with Hands Open. Love that song! Everyone kinda went ballistic.

Loads of lighting effects. But nothing too theatrical, which I liked better.

He was standing right in front of us. Was a bit hard to capture everyone on stage cos my view was always blocked by all the giants in front.

They belted out hits from the latest album as well as the previous one. They were simply awesome.. really class acts! Sounded the same if not better than their recordings. The lead singer is a pretty humourous person though he uses loads of profanities. He was poking fun at the unsynchronised waving of hands and glow stick. Quite memalukan la to have him to remind us how to do our wavings.

Who could forget the ever famous Chasing Cars? Everyone were just shouting their lungs out.
They sang other songs like Make This Go On Forever ( on Grey's soundtrack) , Signal Fire ( Spiderman 3) . How To Be Dead, Chocolate, Run, Open Your Eyes, and of course I can't remember the rest. I'd say they are really good entertainers. The Advertiser ( local newspaper) gave them a 4-star review for their efforts.
And Irish accent is sexayy!! Ireland really churns out really talented artists. Like U2! They had a concert here last year and from what I heard, it was totally worth every cent of the ticket. How unfair I wasn't here then :(
Totally exhausted after standing for so many hours but satisfied nonetheless. I think this one is more worth the money than Brooke Fraser's.

And we walked all the way back into the city cos the bus will take ages to come as well. Long day indeed. I was really exhausted especially since it was after a long day in uni. But honestly, I can't wait to go for another stand up concert again!! Wish Justin Timberlake would perform for another night.

Hairspray is just AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!!!

ooooo the best movie thus far for me this year! It's like Dreamgirls but more laughters, more songs, more colours, more vibrant and it has.......

ZAC EFRON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gosh no wonder High School Musical is such a big hit. Like Chareli said, his prescence makes up for the rest of the show. Was so tempted to join in when the girls in the show were screaming for him. I think I like his look here better than in HSM. Old school rocks! The 60's rock as well!!
I also really really wanted to stand up and jiggle to the music as well. Oh how tempting it was but how embarrassing it would've been for my friend. Haha! I felt a bit bad for dragging him along cos he fell asleep halfway through the show! Hmmph how dare he!

I know it might be a tad too corny for some and kinda too fairy tale like but hey , no complains from me. Definitely needed some laughs here. Laughter is kinda the best remedy in most situations. Shan't elaborate on that.

In short, I totally ♥ed HAIRSPRAY!
One of the better watch this year. I have to admit I'm biased. So sorry if you don't find it that good. John Travolta still look like a drag queen. He sure can groove with that prothestic bum and all but the singing part is just wrong man. Cos he still sounds like a guy and the part where he serenaded with Christopher Walken sounded like two guys serenading each other. Wrong wrong wrong...

Haven't updated for ages! Been a bit lazy to blog about happenings. Snow Patrol came, rocked hard and damn, they're so good! Will blog about it someday. I totally love Facebook man. All the photos go straight there. No more passing photos around in thumb drive anymore :P

Anyways, I've been troubled by this dream I had this morning and it's stuck in my head for the whole of today. Ok there are actually 2 parts.

First part was where me and my family, not everybody though, somebody was missing but I can't tell who it was. And we were riding on this rickety elevator and wanted to go up to 4th floor but the elevator shot up to 8th instead and then dropped straight down to the 3rd. ( yeah that's how vividly I remember the dream) And if that wasn't bad enough, the botoom of the lift gave way like how a cardboard box does. Thankfully none of us fell through since we were all clinging on to something else. But the surprising thing was, everyone was very nonplussed by what happened while I was screaming my lungs out. Hmm...

Then the second part was even more traumatizing. I dreamt that I was lazy and decided to skip my Biology(??!!) exam knowingly. Then I panicked when I realized I had to sit for supps which I couldn't afford to since I'll be at home by then and the highest grade I could attain was a Pass. But the scary thing was, even in my dream, I was aware that it could be a nightmare but my friends were all telling me that it wasn't a nightmare and it actually happened. I struggled to wake up because of that.

Boy, do I need a dream interpretator!

I guess that's the kind of attitude everyone of us could need a bit of.
