Oh work is ok, thanks for asking.
But man... it's a lot tougher than I expected ( maybe I didn't expect enough).
Firstly, there's dealings with your employer ( who is not your dad!) who doesn't let you do whatever you want and doesn't let you act cranky or even talk back to him whenever you feel like it. Who doesn't let you stand around and idle and makes sure you're doing something every second of your shift just to make it worth every cent he pays you. Who eats away all your tips however little they may be. Who asks me to do something and then thinks I can't possibly do a good job of it and decides to take over.
That said, I think I've been given more trust to handle things by myself of late. I guess he was just concerned with having someone inexperienced and got a tad too far with the breathing down my neck. Oh, and he lets me chat and eat after my shift with friends who come over. I'm sure he's happy to employ someone who helps bring in the revenue right?
The chef and kitchen hand are pretty nice people as well so there aren't really a lot of reasons for me to get "unhappy" about over work. It's just the work load which I found daunting intially. I guess it's all a matter of getting used to it.
Anyways, to stay or not , it all depends on if I can juggle this together with all my other commitments. But for now, I'll just try to stick with it for a month first. Wish me luck for I have another shift tonight :)

Another over due post!
Guess who came and went?

Brandi Carlile, the first opening act. Female rocker with husky voice. Very Janis Joplin/Melissa Ethridge kinda singer. Her vocal power is really good I must say.

Very interesting band she has, with a cellist in it!
Next up, One Republic!! Woo hoo... Funny thing is, despite their hits like Apologize and Stop and Stare making such heavy airplay on radios, they weren't that well received as I expected. Apologize was such a big hit even this cabbie uncle in Singapore knew how to sing along to it but the people here were glued to their seats, unmoving and merely responded to them in polite claps. Felt so weird to just sit on my seat when this guy here was singing out his lungs for us.

Apparently he had one hand on the keyboard and the other on the piano but I couldn't really see despite sitting a lot nearer than a certain Blue ET way at the back. Must've been the angle then cause I was sitting towards the right of the stage.

He was damn good as well!! They did a fantastic job with Tyrant, my favourite OR song! *sighs contentedly*

We had such great seats!!! It was bout 10 rows away from the stage, a bit off the centre. Considering how we couldn't even get seats intially, Lady Luck must've favoured us a lot and gave us 3 seats in a row!
M-A-R-O-O-N F-I-V-E!

Then the crowd got alive!! They didn't perform for very long, about an hour or so but it was pretty full on, with hardly any breaks in between. Good thing they performed a good mix of songs from both albums since I didn't really do my "homework" and listened to more songs from their latest album. From what I can remember, they opened with If I Never See Your Face Again, followed by Makes Me Wonder, Wake Up Call, This Love, Harder to Breathe, The Sun, Sunday Morning (!!!!) , ended with Won't Go Home Without You ( I just knew they would! but they went home without us leh...) , encored with Nothing Lasts Forever ( I think) and She Will Be Loved. There were probably a few other songs in the middle which I had forgotten.
Doesn't seem like a lot of songs come to think about it, but it was just stellar performance one after another, so I'm pretty satisfied.
Joanne and Chastine took a few videos of the performances, it's on Facebook btw. Especially the Sunday Morning one, it's sooooo good... or maybe I'm just being biased cause I really love the song :)

It's all bout Adam! He actually sounds as whiny as he does in his songs. I must admit I found him a bit effeminate as well. Hmmm..... Well, he did quite a good job in warming up the crowd. But just can't stand how these singers always go " I don't say this a lot but I think u guys are the best bunch of crowd I've ever gotten" kinda crap. Come on la.. that's probably the oldest trick on the books and would you honestly think people will fall for it??

NOoooooooo...... don't gooooooooo!!!!!! They threw quite a few things to the crowd like a drum stick, and Adam's sweaty towel. So near yet so far!!

And then we met up with the rest. Great concert I must say! Can't wait for the next one :)
