So... I haven't updated in months! But then again, it's not like anyone cares. For those who pop your heads in once in a while, thanks for your concern :)

Funny that the last post was on state conference and now this one would be fresh ( not exactly fresh fresh but about a week after) from national conference. Wowee! Sydney was an awesome place to visit not so sure bout living there though. Nevertheless, love the place, love how it's always bustling with people 24-7, love the food , love the shopping...

Anyways, back to conference. It was such a great experience! Discussions had, conversations made, people met, PARTAAYYSS... all added up to that. But for me, the biggest takeaway from conference was gaining a better understanding (finally!) of what AIESEC really does, its relevance to me and also in society and also what our contribution in the organisation means and does.

Another takeaway would be taking initiative. AIESEC or any other organisation for that matter is made up of its people and it wouldn't have gotten to where it is today if not for the initiative taken up by every single one of them who had contributed in it. Imagine this, 60 years ago, just 3 years after WW2, 6 (or 8, I forget) university students thought that there was a need to foster greater relationship and understanding across borders hence the organisation. And look at where their initiative has gotten today: a globally recognised student run organisation with members from 103 countries, an impressive list of alumni, thousands of lives transformed and experienced gained through leadership and exchanges.

Look, joining AIESEC is not a magic wand. It DOES NOT guarantee you that life changing experience nor does it turn you into a leader overnight. It's entirely up to you to take up the initiative and immerse yourself in the opportunities that it brings. The same goes for everything else in life anyway. But AIESEC offers you the avenue to organise events, lead a team of people, and knowing you'd always get the support needed. Even when you screw up, it's not like you're gonna get fired just because of that. And with all these, it only makes you more confident and ready to take on the world.

Conference was really intense and tiring though. Doesn't help that the camp site was as cold as shit so I caught the flu bug towards the end. And believe me, 2 weeks of being away from the comforts of my bed and a certain somebody just made me miss Adelaide like crazy. Take no offense, Sydneysiders, I wouldn't trade anything for that awesome 2 weeks spent there.

Anyways, bout Sydney trip. AWESOME! Was great catching up with Chong Wee and Chareli and a thousand thanks to them for accommodating me bringing me around. Chareli has the coolest and nicest landlady + housemates ever! Lucky pig!

Sydney welcomes me! I feel special :)

First night in Sydney. Circular Quay with Chongwee and his friends.

Anyway, with regards to my first night in Sydney, Chongwee is really interested to hear about my take on Pancakes on the Rocks, the supposed must go place in Sydney.
The fact that we waited for more than 30 minutes for a table already shows how popular that place is.
We ordered the chocolate and buttermilk pancakes and trust me, they are the worst tasting pancakes in the world! Totally overrated and don't even try to attempt to finish one with another person. Unless you're sharing it with 5 other people.

Toga party on first night of conference. I looked like a freaking tree. Remind me to get the Jerry Springer party photos. You would want to see them :)

Straight after conference and church. Went to Hillsong! Shagged as hell and looking like shit (like I ever don't) Had a lebanese dinner with Chareli's landlady, Lisa and Giandi, her housemate, Chris from my OCC team and Chareli the retard with her tongue out.

Lisa's 2 most adorable puppies in the world! Tiger and Max. I've never met more friendly and cuter puppies than these, honestly!

We pooled together some money but unfortunately, could only afford one CMI pole dancer at Mrs Macquarie's chair. Sad eh?

Favourite photo taken this trip. Sunset at Botanical Gardens.

I'll probably sort out the photos soon-ish. Just have shit loads to do and but as lazy as don't know what. All the other conference photos are on Facebook and it's also being a total bitch for not letting me upload photos. I tried so many freaking times already!!

Ok, I need to start applying for internships as well, so wish me luck with the resume writing.
